2nd trophy!!!

She was SO proud to get her 2nd trophy at the end of the season party today! First one for dance last year and this one is for soccer. She was named the "top-scorer" for her team. She is very fast and wants to continue to play soccer just like her big brother.

Whitney....newest addition to our family!

Whitney is a brittany spaniel/wire-haired terrier that we adopted this summer. She is just the sweetest dog ever and we are so happy that she is the newest member of our family! She LOVES to chase baseballs in the backyard. :)

It's going, it's going, it's gone!!!

He hit the team's first homerun of the season this past weekend!!! He is still talking about it. He is really enjoying coach pitch this year and really likes having Daddy as his coach again and playing on the same team with some of his buddies. He loves to play 1st base and short stop, but still at this age level has to move around and play everywhere. Funny to see that this red batting helmet that he has been using since he was 4 years old finally fits him now.

Go Rangers!

Halloween 2008

Our cute little black kitty-cat and baseball superstar!

They had a great time trick-or-treating with friends
and got way too much candy (Daddy will have to start
taking some to work soon so it will begin to disappear)!

Classroom "Election Day" - 10/22/08

His 2nd grade class had a classroom "election day". They divided into Republican and Democratic parties based on what the children thought their parents would be voting in the upcoming election and then nominated a President to represent each party in an upcoming "election day". He didn't raise his hand to be nominated for President because there would be a "speech" involved (lol), but was nominated to be the campaign manager for his group. The classroom had so much fun making signs, banners, shirts, hats, etc. during their center time.....so did his mommy on volunteer days! For 2 weeks at home and school, we had a serious campaign manager on our hands with making tons of campaign signs and fun things to pass out to his classmates. On "election day" every student was given a vocabulary word to give the definition and show their illustration, both candidates gave their speeches, and then all the students were able to cast their ballots. It was a great learning experience for his entire class (but funny when results turned out differently than assumed based on the numbers in each group...you know 2nd grade girls...they voted for their friend who was the candidate for the other party...ha)!

Scarecrow Day at preschool - 10/21/08

Our last year at her preschool's "Scarecrow Day"! So glad she got 2 years wear out of the overalls her mommy made (a very small attempt to be creative...still needs to get her new sewing machine out of the box!!)
